HUMANITARIAN AID FOR ETHIOPIA

MJAA Awarded by Ethiopian Government For More Than Two Decades of Service To the Poor

Across the Amhara region, the MJAA Ethiopia Relief is transforming women’s health through free surgeries for Uterine/Vaginal Prolapse (UVP) and Benign Mass Tumors (BMT). During the first nine months of 2025, ten partner hospitals performed 1,091 life-changing surgeries — far surpassing the planned target of 750.

Thanks to strengthened community outreach, early detection, and improved service delivery, overall achievement reached an extraordinary 145%. Several hospitals doubled or even tripled their expected caseload, providing essential care to women who otherwise would have continued suffering silently.

Top-performing hospitals included Enjibara (299%), Felege Hiwot (275%), and Woldiya (233%), demonstrating remarkable commitment and capacity. While a few facilities faced shortages or staffing gaps, the overall regional impact has been exceptional.

Every surgery represents a woman restored to health, dignity, and the ability to care for her family. Thank you to all who make this compassionate work possible.
