I am weary with my eyes crying out, my throat is parched, my eyes grow dim with waiting for my God. (TLV)
As David here expresses, waiting for God to fulfill a promise or answer a prayer can be a frustrating and lengthy process. Nevertheless, David continues to hold on. Why does David continue waiting? Why is giving up not a viable option? Once one has a personal relationship with the Creator, we know that He knows what is best for us. Giving up very likely means settling for less than the best or worse. As David infers, once we know the Lord, our only viable and wise option is to hang on and wait in faith trusting God for His direction and timing.
