The Daily Nosh – Psalms 25:20-21
Guard my soul and deliver me. Let me not be ashamed, for I take refuge in you. May integrity and uprightness protect me – for I wait for you. (TLV) Psalms 25:20-21
Nosh: Though David is a great warrior king with a powerful army at his command, he is aware that there is always someone smarter and more powerful. He knows he is vulnerable and that his true strength is his integrity and right relationship with the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, the God of Israel. In fact, this integrity gives him the confidence and faith that God will intervene when life looks hopeless. Self-reliance is ultimately a fool’s game. God reliance in all situations – good and bad – is the path of the wise and successful.
