(5) I wait for Adonai (the Lord) my soul waits, and in His word I hope. (6) My soul waits for my Lord, more than the watchmen for the morning, watchmen for the morning. (7) O Israel, wait for the Lord. For with Adonai there is lovingkindness, and with Him is full redemption. (TLV)
Patience and perseverance is the key to fulfilled hope and answered prayer. Like the watchman who anticipates and waits for the morning to dawn, David believes and expects that God’s needed deliverance will appear. His expectation is based on his belief that God loves him and loves Israel and that God’s love for His faithful children is the divine motivator.
