Nosh: Loving the Word of God infers studying, obeying and living by its instruction. This creates a barrier or hedge against the corrosive and destructive effect of sin. Once we know and understand what to avoid, the likelihood that we would engage in self-defeating and harmful conduct is greatly reduced if not eliminated.
