My foes trample me all day. For many are fighting me arrogantly. In a day when I am afraid, I will put my trust in You. In God – I keep praising His word – in God I trust, I will not fear. What can mere flesh do to me? (TLV) – Psalm 56:3-4
Nosh: I love this passage for here David (the great warrior) transparently shares that there are some situations that arouse fear in him…that frighten him. So how does he respond? Immediately, he runs to God, gives his fear to God and waits expectantly for God to deliver him. In other words, he quickly chooses to reject the fear and turn to God for deliverance. It is this humble act of faith that produces rising confidence in David’s heart in the face of menacing and threatening situations.
