The Daily Nosh – Proverbs 17:28

Daily Nosh

Even a fool, who keeps quiet, is considered wise, discerning, if he seals his lips. (TLV) Proverbs 17:28

Nosh: Silence is perceived by onlookers as thoughtfulness which is then associated with being wise and intelligent. As Solomon points out, perhaps it is wiser to be quiet and slow to speak when we are in uncertain situations and not sure what to say or how to answer rather than to speak and prove our ignorance.
