The Daily Nosh – Philippians 4:6-7

Do not be anxious about anything – but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your request be known to God. And the shalom (peace) of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Messiah Yeshua. (TLV) Philippians 4:6-7
Nosh: God does not promise those that follow Him a carefree and trouble free life. All of the great men and women of Scripture faced many difficult challenges. However, He does promise to be with us through the good and the bad of life and teach us how to receive His best. One of the greatest blessings He gives to us is His peace in the midst of life’s storms. In this passage Paul shares with us how we can receive this supernatural peace when we need it. He teaches that it is the product of a life of cultivated prayer and thanksgiving. Apparently, prayer keeps us close to God in tough times and thankfulness fosters humility which promotes intimacy with God and a supernatural release of His peace. The more we practice both prayer and thanksgiving, the more His supernatural peace will become a fixture and blessing in our lives.
