The Daily Nosh – Numbers 12:15-16
So Miriam was restricted to outside the camp for seven days. The people did not move on until Miriam was brought back. Afterward, the people left Hazeroth and encamped in the wilderness of Paran. (TLV) Numbers 12:15-16
Nosh: Miriam had rebelled against her brother Moses who was God’s appointed leader of the nation of Israel. As a consequence for this sin, God punished her by striking her with leprosy. She repented of her sin and was immediately healed but was removed from the camp for seven days to be cleansed in accordance with God’s Law. The lesson here is that, like Miriam, God’s best plan for our life can be delayed until resistance to or rebellion against that plan is resolved.
