As He got into the boat, His disciples followed Him. (24) Suddenly, a great storm arose on the sea, so that the boat was being covered by the waves. But Yeshua kept on sleeping. So they came and woke Him up, saying, “Master, save us! We’re perishing!” He said to them, “Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it became totally calm. (TLV) Matthew 8: 23-26
Nosh: The danger of the storm was immediate and real. Yeshua’s words of rebuke were directed at the disciples fear, not the storm. He instructed them to handle their fear by coming to Him in faith believing and trusting that God has the final authority in every situation no matter how desperate it appears. He then demonstrated the wisdom of this approach by calming the storm… completely.
