For thus says Adonai (the Lord): “After 70 years for Babylon are complete, I will visit you, and fulfill My good word toward you – to bring you back to this place. For I know the plans that I have in mind for you,” declares Adonai, “plans for shalom (peace) and not calamity – to give you a future and a hope.” (TLV) Jeremiah 29:10-11
Nosh: For those that love God, these verses are a source of great comfort. It is encouraging to know that even in seasons of Divine correction and discipline (personal or national) God has a well thought out plan for our restoration and future success. His plan is not ever to abandon us to destruction. I have found it helpful to regularly remind myself that His correction, though painful in the moment, is always constructive and always for my good. Hallelujah!
