You ask and you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives so you may spend it on your passions. (TLV)
God looks at our hearts’ motivations before granting our prayer requests. A self-centered request, that is one that benefits only ourselves, increases the likelihood that God will not positively respond to our request. However, this verse infers that God loves to answer prayer requests that are not only a blessing to ourselves but are genuinely intended to bless and enrich others as well. Selfless prayers with generous intentions are divine attention getters.
