The Daily Nosh – Isaiah 31:4-5

For thus says Adonai (the Lord) to me: “As a lion or a young lion growls over its prey, though a company of shepherds is called out against him – their voice does not disturb him – so Adonai Tzva’ot (the Lord of Hosts) will come down to fight on Mount Zion, on its hill. Like hovering birds, so Adonai Tzva’ot (the Lord of Hosts) will protect Jerusalem, By protecting, He will deliver. By passing over, He will save.” (TLV) Isaiah 31:4-5
Nosh: Though the context of this passage is Jerusalem, there is a principle here that applies to all of us in God’s family of faith. Our troubles, challenges, battles, and potential defeats as God’s children reflect negatively on our heavenly Father. He is jealous for His name and reputation; consequently, He is motivated to intervene, defend, and protect those who are called by His name as we would our own families. Such is the nature of God’s connection to and His love for us.
