The Daily Nosh – II Kings 2:13-14

Daily Nosh

He picked up the mantle of Elijah that fell from him. When he returned and stood by the bank of the Jordan, he took the mantle of Elijah that had fallen off him, struck the waters and said, “Where is Adonai the God of Elijah?” As he indeed struck the waters, they parted here then there. Then Elisha crossed over. (TLV) II Kings 2:13-14

Nosh: Most miracles recorded in scripture are partnership miracles. Man first acts in faith with no guarantee of success as Elisha did by picking up the mantle and striking the water. God then does what only God can do. He partners with us by releasing the supernatural power to accomplish the humanly impossible objective as He did here by causing the waters of the Jordan to part. If there is not an act of faith there is not a miracle. God is in the faith building business and this is how He builds our confidence to believe Him for ever greater and supernatural answers to prayer.
