The Daily Nosh – I Timothy 4:13

Daily Nosh

Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to encouragement and to teaching. (TLV) I Timothy 4:13

Nosh: I like this passage. It concisely describes for us what congregational leadership should look like in God’s kingdom. As Paul outlines to Timothy, the focus of true spiritual leadership is to humbly serve, encourage and build up others in their knowledge and understanding of God’s Word and how it applies to their lives. Any other agenda we might perceive in a leader is likely a self-centered corruption of God’s ideal and should be a matter of great concern and prayer.
