The Daily Nosh – I Samuel 11:5-6

Now behold, Saul was coming from the field behind the oxen, so Saul asked, “Why are the people weeping?” Then they told him the words of the men of Jabesh. Then the Spirit of God suddenly rushed upon Saul and when he heard those words his anger blazed. I Samuel 11:5-6
Nosh: Throughout Scripture, it is the power of God’s Holy Spirit that is the source of divine inspiration and boldness to accomplish extraordinary spiritual objectives. In this passage, Israel was being threatened by a violent and dangerous neighboring nation. It was not until God’s supernatural Spirit rushed upon Saul, Israel’s newly anointed king, that he was filled with the determination and boldness to rise up, rally Israel’s armies, and defeat its enemy. I often remind myself that the key to great success and best results in life is not to rely on my own limited abilities but rather make it a practice to invite God’s supernatural Holy Spirit to inform and lead in every decision and challenge I face.
