The Daily Nosh – I Peter 5:5b
…And all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” (TLV) I Peter 5:5b
Nosh: It is amazing to see how many verses in the Scripture emphasize the importance and blessing of humility. Peter says that if we put on humility like we do clothing, divine mercy and grace will characterize and permeate our lives. Pride, on the other hand, produces the frightening and destructive result of active resistance from God Himself (James 4:6). I think we can all agree it is wise to provoke God’s blessing rather than His judgment on our lives.
