Also, see to it that there is no immoral or godless person – like Esau, who sold his birthright for one meal. For you know that later, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected. He found no chance for repentance, though he begged for it with tears. (TLV) Hebrews 12:16-17
Nosh: Sometimes, the choices we make (like Esau) have unforeseen consequences that cannot be easily undone. It pays to submit our decisions to God, and carefully consider them with prayer and wise spiritual counsel. If we follow this strategy, much trouble and heartache can and will be avoided over the course of a lifetime.
