And so after waiting patiently, Abraham reached the promise. (TLV) Hebrew 6:15
Nosh: Abraham is described and given credit for waiting patiently for God to fulfill His promise to make of his lineage a great nation starting with the birth of a son. This positive description is despite his misguided and enormously consequential attempts to “help” God fulfill this promise as recorded in the Scriptural episodes with Eliezer (Gen. 15) and Ishmael (Gen. 16). It’s very comforting to note that Abraham’s life is not defined by his failings, but rather his lifelong record of faithfulness to God.
