The Daily Nosh – Exodus 7:6-7

Daily Nosh

So, Moses and Aaron did as Adonai (the Lord) commanded them. Moses was eighty years old and Aaron eighty-three years old when they spoke to Pharaoh. (TLV) Exodus 7:6-7

Nosh : It is amazing to note that in the lives of both Moses and Aaron, their most physically taxing (and important) ministry was not accomplished in the youthful and prime years of their lives, as might be anticipated, but rather in the last third or sunset years of their lifespan. (Both lived to be 120 and 123 years old respectively.) God evidently re-invigorated them to oversee His miraculous deliverance of the Jewish people from Egypt and the following 40 year long journey through the wilderness to the Promised Land. Apparently, youthful energy was less important to God than the wisdom gained through experience. More important, God wants us to remember that circumstances can be deceiving, and He is not restricted or bound by the natural. With God – all things are possible. (Matthew 19:26)
