The Daily Nosh – Deuteronomy 15:4-5

However, there should be no poor among you, for Adonai will surely bless you in the land Adonai your God is giving you as an inheritance to possess. If only you would carefully listen to the voice of Adonai your God, being careful to do all these mitzvah (commandments) that I am commanding you today! (TLV) Deuteronomy 15:4-5
Nosh: The dictionary definition of poverty or being poor is having an insufficient supply of financial provision with which to eat, pay the bills, and live a normal life. Over time, it often is destructive mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Notice in this passage that poverty is not part of the promised inheritance. In fact, to the faithful, God promises His blessing in every way, which includes generous financial provision with which to satisfy the necessities of life.
