“The Apocalypse According to the First Messianic Jews:
How Jewish Apocalyptic Literature informs Biblical Eschatology.”
This Yeshiva class will be a survey of secondary sources on Messianic Jewish Eschatology from the first to the fourth century, approximately AD 45—320. Some of the operational questions covered will be: “What work have scholars previously done on the topic? How has the church throughout history understood the eschatological role of the Jewish people? What is biblical teaching on the eschatological role of the Jewish people? To what extent does the biblical teaching on eschatology inform a coherent Jewish perspective on the doctrine of eschatology? To what extent does the modern Messianic Jewish movement’s approach to eschatology align with the biblical teaching on eschatology?. What are the implications for the contemporary Church?”
