While there are more than 130,000 Ethiopian Jews now living in Israel, there are still more than 75,000 Beta Israel/Ethiopian Jews living in Ethiopia. Over 95% of this community is prosecuted for being Jewish and lives in dire poverty, lacking food, clean water and access to adequate medical care. The MJAA is working tirelessly to bring help and hope to these suffering Jewish people.
Of those remaining in Ethiopia, almost all of them believe Yeshua (Jesus) is the Messiah. When they were left behind and prevented from returning to Israel because of their faith in Yeshua, most could not return to their original homes, and were forced to live in desperately poor communities waiting and hoping that Israel would change its mind and admit them to Israel for a new future. They urgently want to return to Israel but are prevented from doing so by the government of Israel because of their faith in Yeshua.
God has given to the MJAA a vision and plan to affect the final Exodus of the Ethiopian Jews to Israel but until this happens, God has given the MJAA the assignment to bring blessing to the Ethiopian Jews remaining there as well as their Christian and Muslim neighbors.
To that end, the MJAA drills and maintains over 45 freshwater wells providing clean healthy drinking water to tens of thousands of Ethiopian Jews and their neighbors. By providing safe drinking water, disease and illness is dramatically reduced. Most disease in Ethiopia originates from drinking unclean filthy water. These freshwater wells are literally saving thousands of lives.
MJAA Ethiopia Relief also conducts medical clinics in Ethiopian Jewish areas that are open to the entire population. 6-8 medical clinics are conducted annually in the traditional Jewish areas of northern Ethiopia affecting many thousands of hurting Ethiopian Jews and non-Jews who would never otherwise be able to receive medical care due to their dire poverty. These medical clinic rotations provide minor and major surgery procedures, laboratory tests, prescriptions and medical drugs, along with assessments by specialists and hospital referrals for further treatment and specialty surgical procedures. In these clinics, patients are treated for ailments such as intestinal parasites, hernias, fungal infections, tumors and cervical cancer; many of our recent clinics have also delivered an increasing number of newborn babies.
MJAA Ethiopian Relief welcomes all with a heart to partner with the MJAA to see our Jewish Ethiopian brothers not only return to Israel but also in the meantime reach out to them where they are to ease their suffering until the prophetic and Final Exodus of the Ethiopia Jews to Israel is realized.
