He established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel, which He commanded our fathers to teach their children, that the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn, and arise and tell them to their children, so that they should set their hope in God. (ESV) Psalms 78:5-7
Nosh: In God’s great design, the mechanism and process for passing righteousness from generation to generation is simply…parents. To facilitate this transfer, God designed children to be extremely impressionable and teachable in their earliest years of life. When parents instruct their children about God and His ways at a very young age, it creates a strong tendency to follow God and place their trust and hope in Him throughout life. To not do so, misses the great opportunity to sow a lifelong blessing into your children and risks leaving them with a deficiency difficult to deal with throughout their lives.
