(30) So I purged them from everything foreign and I assigned duties for the priests and the Levites, each to his own task, (31) and for the wood offering at appointed times and for the first fruits. Remember me, O my God, for good.
Nosh: This is a great verse to remember when things around you are going badly despite the fact that you have been faithful to God. Nehemiah reminds God that though Israel has not acted faithfully, he has done his best to serve the Lord and His interests. Nehemiah knows that faithfulness is one of God’s great love languages. That faithfulness gives him both the right and authority to approach and expect from God a positive response to his request. We certainly should assume no less.
