The Daily Nosh – Genesis 12:1-3

(1)Then the Lord said to Abraham, “Get going from your land and from your relatives, and from your father’s house, to the land that I will show you. (2)My heart’s desire is to make you into a great nation, to bless you, to make your name great so that you may be a blessing. (3) My desire is to bless those who bless you, but whoever curses you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.”

Nosh: God promised Abraham a prophetic destiny and blessing which was exciting and multi-generational. However, it was predicated on his saying yes to God’s call and acting in faithful obedience. Abraham risked losing everything by leaving the comfort of home and family and moving toward an uncertain and perilous future full of God’s promise. Unless we too are willing to act courageously in faith, God’s best plan and blessing for our lives will remain dormant and unknown to us.
