Passover Nosh day 6: Exodus 13: 17-18

(17) After Pharaoh had let the people go. God did not lead them along the road to the land of the Philistines, although that was nearby, for God said, “The people might change their minds if they see war and return to Egypt.” (18) So God led the people around by the way of the wilderness to the Red Sea, and the sons of Israel went up out of the land of Egypt armed.

Passover Nosh – Day 6

As we see in this passage, the shortest way is not necessarily the best way to achieve a goal. It may in fact lead to a quick and painful failure. Success is usually preceded by an oftentimes uncomfortable and lengthy process of preparation and learning. Whether we understand the process or not, it is always smarter and wiser to follow God’s plan than our own!
