AIA Director’s Report #2

Dear Friends in the Lord,

A short while ago, Joel Chernoff sent to you a summary of the plans and progress of the Alliance for Israel Advocacy (AIA) during its first eight months of 2016.  It has been gratifying to see the pieces fall into place.

More recently, visits were made to House Congressional Representatives and related staff.  These meetings were arranged by our professional lobbyist firm of Fidelis Government Relations. I was accompanied by our director of Government Affairs, John Desser. John and myself are also registered lobbyists, but do so as unpaid Messianic Jewish volunteers.

John and his family attend our MJAA national conference and he is a Vice President in charge of Government Affairs for the private firm, E-Health.  He formally worked for Senator John Mc Cain and was a Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Department of Health and Human Services.

In all there were 15 meetings, wherein we introduced ourselves as representing AIA.  After a general explanation of our seven advisory topics, we centered on and delivered a white paper written to persuade favor of new ideas for a resolution of the Israel Arab conflict.  The title of our nine page paper is “Time to Dump the Two State Solution.”

The paper readily utilizes passages from the Old Testament scriptures to substantiate our case.  This carried forward into discussion with Congressional members and staff. All but one of these Congressmen were born again Christians, except Rep. Lee Zeldin, who is the only Jewish Republican House member serving in the House of Representatives.

When forming our web-site, Rep. Zeldin agreed to help our cause and show his name and photo on our site, which greatly adds credibility.  The American Israel Political Action Committee (AIPAC) is a powerful influence in Washington, D.C. and they expressed their unhappiness with his working in association with a Messianic group.  However, this Congressman stood his ground and continues to stand with us.  We felt this warrants personal campaign contributions.

The other Member offices were as follows:

  • Rep. Ted Yoho (R-Fl)
  • Rep. Dave Trott (R-MI)
  • Rep. Ron De Santis (R-Fl)
  • Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) *
  • Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL)
  • Rep. Randy Weber (R-TX)*
  • Rep. Randy Hultgren (R-IL)*
  • Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ)*
  • Rep. Doug Lamborn (R-CO)*
  • Rep. Bruce Westerman (R-AR)
  • Rep. Jody Hice (R-GA)
  • Rep. Pete Roskam (R-IL)
  • Rep. Gary Palmer (R-AL)
  • Rep. Steve Chabot (R-OH)

* Potential Champions on our behalf.

These relationships will be further cultivated during the months ahead.  Also, we will seek meetings with the House Foreign Affairs Committee and Middle East subcommittee’s staff. In addition, we will seek to interphase and work with a conservative think tank to help flesh out our ideas and receive feedback.  These opportunities will hopefully take place on November 21 and 22.

All in all, we see a clear path forward toward ultimate success.  We have an efficient and frugal operation that needs to be fueled by financial participation by the Messianic community and the Christian world-at-large.  Please join our efforts with a contribution.

We believe we can achieve something meaningful with your help.  So, it’s push from the bottom and pull from the top, together we can do exploits (Daniel 11:32).

In Yeshua,

Paul Liberman
